Arguably the strongest team Australian has ever assembled, it includes: Ben Maynard, Stewart Bennett and Mathew French, who together achieved 5th place in the World Championships Mens K1 Teams event in 2008;  2007 World Cup Final Silver Medallist, Dan Hall; and, 13-time Australian Womens Champion, Andrea McQuitty.

You can find out more about the Australian team by clicking on each member’s information in the boxes to the right.

Wildwater Racing

Wildwater Races are individual time trials down sections of rivers containing difficult rapids. Specially-designed kayaks and canoes are used to negotiate the natural features of the river: rapids; rocks; tight corners; and waves; in order to find the fastest route down.  Strong mental and technical skills are required with top wildwater racers among the fittest athletes on earth.  Paddlers from 26 nations competed at the 2007 World Cup. The Australian team for the 2009 World Cup consists of six men and five women.
